After the 1980 election, Pierre Trudeau moved back to 24 Sussex Drive and Joe Clark moved back to Stornoway.

It was moving day and Joe Clark was in Hawaii, though that's not where he and his family would be staying for long.

Back in Canada, moving trucks were returning the vacationing Clark family's belongings to Stornoway on March 7, 1980.

That's where Clark and his family had lived until he became prime minister the year before, thus necessitating a move at that point to 24 Sussex Drive.

Yet they were on the move again because the 1980 election had seen Pierre Trudeau and the Liberals return to power.

That also meant Trudeau's return to 24 Sussex Drive.

But the Clark family could enjoy their Hawaiian surroundings until they moved back to Stornoway.
