Diary Marif
Diary Marif is a Vancouver-based Kurdish writer and freelance journalist born in Iraq. He earned a master’s degree in history from Pune University, India, in 2013. His journalistic work has appeared in national and international outlets. Since 2018, Marif has focused on memoirs reflecting on his experiences as a war child. He received an Honourable Mention for the 2022 Susan Crean Award for Nonfiction and is a 2025 recipient of the Yosef Wosk VMI Fellowship.
