Launched in 2001, Ashley Madison — founded by Darren Morgenstern — is a Canadian online dating and social networking service marketed to people who are married and are looking to cheat on their spouse. The website's slogan is "Life is short. Have an affair."

However, in 2015, the site was hacked, exposing more than 30 million people's user data. This breach prompted fraud allegations, a frenzy of public shaming and a whole lot of devastated relationships.

A new podcast — called Exposed: The Ashley Madison Hack — delves into the toll the hack took. It's presented by Sophie Nélisse, who plays the teenage Shauna Shipman: a character whose infidelity is at the core of the show Yellowjackets.
