He painted through his cancer treatment and learned he was in remission on the day of his art show

When Moncton painter and mixed media artist Mathieu Francoeur was diagnosed with testicular cancer that had spread to his abdomen, he couldn't work. In a moment of "panicking financially," he said he "went to his garage and started painting" — and was "blown away" by the work he found himself creating.
