Natalie Tin Yin Gan is a Vancouver-based choreographer and the founder of interdisciplinary arts company Hong Kong Exile. Their most recent production, Nine (Doesn't Follow) Eight, is a multi-media dance theatre work with live-generated electronic sound and projection, unpacking the climate of political uncertainty and anxiety of Hong Kong in the years leading up to its return to the hands of Mainland China.

Practice may make perfect, but no amount of practice can cure the jitters when showing your work to a live audience for the first time. In this week's episode of Exhibitionists, choreographer Natalie Tin Yin Gan, co-founder of Vancouver interdisciplinary arts company Hong Kong Exile, guides us through her thought process while watching her upcoming show "Nine (Doesn't Follow) Eight" with a room full of spectators.

Founded in 2011, Hong Kong Exile has quickly established itself as a force within the theatre community, having produced 12 original works since their inception, many of which have played in dance, theatre, film and music festivals around the world. Their upcoming "Nine (Doesn't Follow) Eight" is a multi-media dance theatre work with live-generated electronic sound and projection that explores the climate of anxiety surrounding the handover of the administration of Hong Kong from the U.K. to China.

Watch Exhibitionists Sunday at 4:30pm (5pm NT) on CBC Television.
