Maps to the co-stars: Sarah Gadon on how her Alias Grace castmate David Cronenberg changed her life
Cronenberg gave Gadon her breakout role, and now they're sharing the screen
Actress Sarah Gadon is having a full-circle moment in her career thanks to one very special co-star in Alias Grace. Gadon stars as Irish maid and convicted murderess Grace Marks in the miniseries based on Margaret Atwood's book, and making an all-too-rare acting appearance alongside her is iconic director David Cronenberg — the man who directed Gadon in her breakout film role.
In this video, Gadon shares her admiration for David Cronenberg's 1986 grotesque sci fi classic, The Fly, and reflects on how he changed her life when he cast her opposite Michael Fassbender and Keira Knightley in 2011's A Dangerous Method.
Gadon would go on to act in two more of Cronenberg's films — 2012's Cosmopolis and 2014's Maps to the Stars — so to share the screen with the legendary director in Alias Grace was, as Gadon describes, "pretty special."
