Parul Kanwar (she/they) is a policy officer at the legislative assembly of Alberta and Alberta’s Top 30-under-30 recipient. She researches intersections of social justice, culture, and gender through community advocacy and policy development. With a background in English, Women and Gender Studies, and Political Science from the University of Alberta, Parul's work includes published research on right-wing movements and political extremism, community organizing, and advancing equitable policies for marginalized communities. Based in Treaty 6 territory, Parul volunteers with organizations focusing on 2SLGBTQIA+ communities and justice initiatives. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her cat Itachi, watching anime, reading fiction, and writing.
