Jeanne Beker on the power of the memoir Forgiveness
The Canada Reads panellist on why her book is the one that will open eyes.
During the Canada Reads 2018 finale, Jeanne Beker, defending Forgiveness by Mark Sakamoto, outlined why she is steadfast in the belief the historical memoir is the book all Canadians should read.
"Everything that this book stands for, is what we all stand for. This is a book about healing one's self, before we can really have the power to go on and grapple with the bigger picture. There is so much individual pain in all our lives — we've all been through so very much — and this is just a brilliant message to keep remembering, time and time again."
