Cast announced for TV adaptation of Carley Fortune's blockbuster romance Every Summer After

The cast of Every Year After, the television adaptation of Carley Fortune's bestselling novel Every Summer After has been announced.  

Set over six years and one emotionally charged weekend, the dual-timeline Every Summer After follows Percy and Sam, two childhood friends whose close bond was shattered by a fateful moment that forced them apart — and the complicated love story that unfolds when they're reunited years later at a funeral. The book is set in Ontario cottage country.

The Amazon Prime Video series will feature British actor Sadie Soverall as Percy and American actor Matt Cornett as Sam, Fortune said in a newsletter to fans.

Soverall is best known for her role as Annabel in the movie Saltburn. She has also appeared as Beatrix in Fate: The Winx Saga and Maisy in Little Bone Lodge.

Cornett was in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series as EJ and most recently, Summer of 69 as Max.

"I was absolutely blown away by their chemistry reads and their auditions," Fortune said in the newsletter. "I held my breath, I swooned, I cried. You are going to fall in love with them — I promise."

Fortune is a Toronto-based writer and journalist who has worked as an editor for Refinery29, The Globe and Mail, Chatelaine and Toronto Life. Her books are One Golden SummerEvery Summer AfterThis Summer Will Be Different and Meet Me at the Lake, which was the first romance book on Canada Readschampioned by Mirian Njoh.

Other cast members announced were American actors Aurora Perrineau as Chantal, Abigail Cowen as Delilah and Michael Bradway as Charlie. Canadian actor Joseph Chiu will play Jordie.
