#StayHomeWriMo encourages you to stay home and write while physical distancing
#StayHomeWriMo is a new initiative encouraging aspiring authors of all ages to stay home and write while the COVID-19 pandemic continues.
Started by the team behind National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), a nonprofit organization that provides tools, structure and community to help people achieve their creative writing goals, #StayHomeWriMo promotes physical, mental and social well-being through writing challenges and exercises.

Launched in late March 2020 to engage writers as they practice social distancing, participants complete a checklist of daily activities posted to the #StayHomeWriMo website and social media platforms.
There are seven days' worth of exercises that range from writing prompts to stretching, meditation and cooking.
Writers are encouraged to share their progress online, virtually chat with other participants and join group writing sessions via livestreams.
According to the #StayHomeWriMo website, the campaign was started in response to a survey NaNoWriMo sent to its members asking what they could do to help during this unprecedented time. People responded by requesting resources to engage their creativity and connect with other writers online while isolated in their homes.
NaNoWriMo executive director Grant Faulkner said the initiative will run "as long as it's relevant."
