Weird Al "already brainstorming" things that rhyme with "Mike Pence"

“I wanted to give a little bit of a different take on it,” said Yankovic. “So after the whole Hamilton incident, I thought I’d try a song about Mike Pence. I’m actually already brainstorming words that rhyme with his name."

LOS ANGELES, CA—The reverberations from Donald Trump's election to the White House continue worldwide, with numerous instances of ongoing protest, political upheaval and economic uncertainty.

It should come as no surprise then, that the world of polka-infused song parodies has also not been immune to these shockwaves.

"Let's just say... I'm on it," winked Grammy award-winning artist Weird Al Yankovic.

Deciding to go in an uncharacteristically political direction, Yankovic revealed that he's already working on a song intended to take the Trump administration to task.

"I wanted to give a little bit of a different take on it," said Yankovic. "So after the whole Hamilton incident, I thought I'd try a song about Mike Pence. I'm actually already brainstorming words that rhyme with his name. Fence, sense, torments, incense, frankincense. I have some things there I should be able to work with."

Yankovic says he is also actively exploring some options for Trump administration-themed songs that would involve parodying recent Billboard hits.

"I've got a great idea for a parody of Rihanna and Drake's Work. I was thinking of calling it 'Jerks.' Something like 'Jerks, jerks, jerks, jerks, jerks. Trump and Pence are jerks, jerks, jerks, jerks, jerks.'"

Despite all this, Yankovic admits that going political has been harder than he expected.

"Taking on the Trump administration has been kind of challenging, if I'm being honest. Sometimes I kind of wonder if it's worth the effort," admitted the singer. "I won't lie to you – there's a good chance I'll just go back to working on my Hotline Bling parody. It's called 'Static Cling.' I think we all agree that could be a hit."
