WestJet launches no-frills airline to be called 'Air Canada'

CALGARY, AB—Canadian airline WestJet has announced it will be unveiling a new "no frills" airline, designed to reduce prices by removing some of the luxuries and comforts of the usual WestJet experience, and it will be called "Air Canada".

"We're so excited about this," said a spokesperson for WestJet. "Though some people want all the accommodations that a WestJet flight typically provides, others are perfectly willing to sacrifice basic comfort for other reasons, and those people should be more than happy to fly Air Canada."

The flights are expected to cut back on the quality of snack menu choices and offer seats with deliberately broken reclining levers. The new airline will also exclusively employ flight attendants of a surly, less helpful demeanour.

At press time, WestJet was also considering launching an improved experience for those willing to pay a little more, and were strongly considering the name "Porter".
