Classic makeup reigned on the Fall 2024 runways — bright red lips, smoky eyes, glowing skin. But there was much variation and drama when it came to hairstyles.

While the glossy waves and curly fringe of seasons past were back, there were also high-volume looks, eye-catching grey manes and elaborate dos that appeared deceptively simple from the front.

For both the everyday and special days, here are some of the best beauty looks from the Fall 2024 runways.

      Shades of grey

Older models, who wore their hair naturally grey, walked the runways at Marine Serre, Collina Strada, Balmain, Batsheva and more. Here's to embracing low-maintenance tresses and timeless beauty!

Grey hair was seen on younger models as well. At the JW Anderson show in London, they wore curly grey wigs contrasted with striking red lips.

      Perfect pout

If there's one thing we'll all want to master by fall, it's the red lip. While there were a few outliers, this season's top pout at many shows, including Carolina Herrera and Khaite, was bright and matte. Wear your preferred shade with minimal eye makeup and blush, and reapply often.

      Tricky twists

Coiled strands, hair rosettes and other twists adorned models' heads at Simone Rocha, Prada and Valentino. These pretty details, hardly visible when looking straight-on, added an element of surprise. They were also a styling flex — intricate hairstyles that would be tricky for novices to replicate at home.

      Part time

They're certainly not new, but it seemed as if precise centre parts were everywhere this season, for example, with low buns, updos and ponytails holding models' locks firmly in place at Victoria Beckham and Junya Watanabe among others. The key to making this timeless look more modern? Going for a flat, clean part without any frizz or flyaways, and maybe using product to add a bit of shine.

      Brow, bye

Makeup artists for the likes of Del Core, Dries Van Noten, Etro and Prada returned to the barely there brow this season. It's a quick way to add edge to classic makeup or to make a minimalist look really pop. And you don't have to commit to bleached brows — you can create a similar look with carefully applied concealer according to the internet.
