12 top red carpet styles from the 76th Emmy Awards
What Dan Levy, Anna Sawai, Lily Gladstone and other A-listers wore on television’s biggest night
Last night, stars like Selena Gomez, Greta Lee and Meryl Streep gathered at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles for the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards. Television's biggest night, now back to its usual September date, was hosted by Canadian father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy.
Here are the top red carpet looks of the night.
Alan Cumming
There was more than one kilt on the Emmys red carpet — actor Richard Gadd also wore a plaid number — but Cumming's black kilt-over-pants look was intriguingly complex. Styled by Sam Spector (whom I worked with years ago), the Teddy Vonranson look was a delight, even garnering comparisons to Taylor Swift's recent VMAs dress.
Rita Ora
Ora does retro glamour so well, and her double-satin and silk chiffon dress by Tamara Ralph, paired with an ostrich-feather-trimmed cape, was undoubtedly one of the fanciest looks of the evening.
Kristin Scott Thomas
Thomas wore a beautiful silvery lavender Miu Miu dress on the red carpet, perfectly accessorized with elbow gloves, bright blue drop earrings and a bold red lip by makeup artist Kate Lee. In case you're wondering, the lip colour is Chanel Rouge Allure Liquid Velvet in 224 Passionante.
Meryl Streep
Proving that even post-Barbie, pink isn't going anywhere, Streep wore a head-to-toe pink suit complete with rose-coloured glasses. The look was custom Alexander McQueen styled by Streep's go-to, Micaela Erlanger.
Aaron Moten
The Fallout actor caught our eye in a bright red jacket and pleated trousers from Kenzo's Fall 2024 collection.
Chris Perfetti
Perfetti, who stars in Abbott Elementary, was another standout. His ruffled black and white shirt with black trousers — fun and very unexpected — was by American designer Christian Siriano.
Kali Reis
Nominated for True Detective: Night Country, the actor and professional boxer wore a blazer and skirt by Jovana Louis, paired with custom jewelry from a collective of Indigenous artists. Highlights included her feather accessory and bold eyeshadow, which perfectly complemented the purple velvet suiting.
Nicola Coughlan
The Irish actor and Bridgerton star wore a silvery off-the-shoulder dress by Atelier Prabal Gurung with De Beers jewelry. It can be tough to pull off a floor-length sculptural look like this when you're petite, but Coughlan — who is five feet one inch — made it work.
Dan Levy
The evening's co-host wore Loewe on the Emmys carpet. His black suit looked sharp, but it was the three-dimensional white silk top that stood out.
Hannah Einbinder
One of the top looks of the evening was Hacks star Einbinder's drapey, ethereal Louis Vuitton dress. The dusty rose shade looked beautiful on her, and the sculptural design of the shimmery one-shouldered bodice was striking.
Lily Gladstone
The actor, nominated for Under the Bridge, wore a custom black Rodarte gown with a dramatic train, styled by Jason Rembert. The look was made even more stunning by a copper chest plate, crafted for Gladstone by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Agnes Seaweed Wisden.
Anna Sawai
The Shogun star, who became the first Asian actor to win an Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a drama series, looked radiant in a bright red gown with Cartier jewels styled by Canadian Karla Welch. The custom silk faille mermaid dress was by Vera Wang.
