Men's printed shirt alert: These hot numbers may contain graphic material

Your go-to summer shirt gets the graphic treatment.

Your go-to summer shirt gets the graphic treatment

The graphic print "vacay" shirt is trending in a major way this summer — it's like your dad's Hawaiian shirt dipped in today's modern "flex". A collared short sleeve shirt is a great way to elevate a look while still allowing your arms to breathe. This season anything goes and the louder the print the better. Whether it's animals, palm trees or a cartoon print, this season we get graphic. Be careful, when sporting such a loud shirt up top, be sure to balance it out with a solid coloured bottom like relaxed fit dress pants or classic black jeans.

Animal print

For those wanting to get in touch with their wild side, an animal print could be the way to go. The all-over print on this Stussy BDU shirt has more of a "pop art" vibe which feels modern even though the leopard shirt is usually thought of as retro item.

Dark side

Sometimes you want a graphic print that whispers rather than shouts, so go for one like this H&M resort shirt. The black background means it's less loud than many on this list, but just as cool thanks to the nice contrast between the black and the pops of pink and purple. Also check out the price tag. *WINK*

Cartoon

I love the playful nature of this Huf print shirt. Felix the Cat first appeared way back in 1919 and even though he's been around for almost a hundred years, mixing him with some "slot machine" cherries feels current. This is the perfect shirt for that "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" getaway you've been planning.

Brightly coloured

Japanese brand Flagstuff delivers this graphic-heavy shirt in an eye-catching bright turquoise green. The brand gets it right with spliced animé frames which contrast nicely against the brightness of the green.

Doodles

Scribbles and doodles come alive on this Zara graphic print shirt. The black and white colourway will pair nicely with black jeans or slacks.

The remix

Leave it to Japanese brand Kapital to come up with a very unique take on the Hawaiian shirt. This one mixes hibiscus florals with "Native American prints" for an unexpected yet rad take.

Mix it all

If you want to know what the most popular graphic print shirt is among celebrities this season, it's gotta be this eccentrically Prada shirt. The Italian fashion house has numerous "split design" graphic shirts this season, and celebrities like Jeff Goldblum and Pusha T have been seen sporting variations. This shirt features a spread collar with baroque print adorning half the shirt with an all-over lipstick graphic print on the other. The upside is it's unforgettable look, the downside is the unforgettable price tag that accompanies it!
