With the holiday season being peak engagement time, chances are you know someone who got engaged or perhaps you're set to walk down the aisle yourself. So while wedding season may not be in full swing yet, the planning certainly is. Prepping for upcoming nuptials can be a bit of an overwhelming rabbit hole. Luckily, designer Lady Hayes, always has her ear to the ground when it comes to what's trending in the world of weddings. She dutifully scoured the Wedluxe Show this past weekend to bring to you the prettiest and cleverest ideas set to dominate this year's ceremonies. Here she is with her top five picks...

1. Doughnut walls

Need I say more?! Okay I will! Forget dessert tables and opt for a whole wall of decadence. And if you want the prettiest one that you ever did see, well then Fruitilicious has you covered. Her luxury desserts are not only gorgeous, but they are made with premium ingredients, and she has gluten-free and vegan options available. If you're wondering where you can find this stunning frame with beautiful blooms, well Fruitilicious will set that up for your big day too.

2. Roaming oyster shuckers

Watu, a roaming oyster shucker at Raw Catering

For Raw Catering, it's the connection that makes the experience luxurious! And that's exactly what you get with the roaming oyster shucking offering. Hosts will roam through your reception with their mobile oyster station, shucking seasonal, sustainable and Canadian-harvested oysters right to your guests. They pride themselves on being knowledgeable, charming and charismatic.

3. Petal Pop

Florals and rice have each been integral to weddings in their own right, but this fun idea marries the two in the most beautiful and surprising way. Made with sun dried rose petals and gold confetti glitter, I actually designed this confetti with the perfect wedding photo opportunity in mind. Simply remove the top, then POP! They can be given to guests to pop as you make your debut as newlyweds, or you can pass a handful over to your photographer or wedding planner to orchestrate a magical confetti-filled photo. For easiest cleanup, it's best used inside — the birds will thanks you.

4. Cotton candy welcome drinks

Where are we?! Did I die?! Cotton candy on sparkling rosé? Talk about a slice of heaven! These welcome drinks are definitely on trend this year and will not only leave your guests smiling but they will be Instagram'n these beauties like crazy. You might even consider putting a pretty backdrop by your entrance just for the super cute photo op.

5. Mini floral bouquets

Wedding favours... What can you give to your guests that they will actually like? Friends, its flowers! Skip the Jordan almonds — all you need is a stem or two and some greens wrapped up in on-theme paper, as seen here by the talented Ashton Creative.  An elegant token to say thank you to your friends and family, it's eco-friendly, plus it will last for days reminding them of your magical big day.
