Sweater Wreath

This project could not be easier! Make a wreath out of any old sweater to warm up your front door.

What you'll need

Old Sweater
Wire Wreath Frame
Hot Glue Gun
Ribbon
Scissors
Holiday Accessories

Here's how to do it:

Cut Sweater into thick strips. I like to try and cut one long strip from the body of the sweater
Lay the strip of sweater flat on the table
Wrap the sweater around the frame, gluing one side to the other. The idea is to create a sleeve around the wire frame
Repeat steps 1-3 until the entire wire frame is covered
Tuck in any loose or frayed edges and secure with hot glue as needed
Cut a long piece of ribbon and tie it around the wire frame
Add a big bow
Attach Christmas ornaments or decorative greenery to suit your taste

Sweater meet macramé

This was inspired by the sudden resurgence of macramé. Steven used old sweaters to create vintage and quirky wall hangings.

Here's what you'll need:

Old Sweater (A natural fiber is best for this project)
Round Needlepoint Frame
Scissors
Ribbon
String
Woodend dowel
Optional: Textile accessories (Pom Poms, Tassels, Beads, etc).

Here's how to do it:

Cut your sweater into large rectangles. The width of the rectangle should be slightly larger than your needlepoint frame
Secure the top of your sweater into the needlepoint frame
Frey the remaining sweater to reveal all the threading.
Braid, tie or secure the frayed pieces to create a very simple pattern
Use your string or ribbon to hang 3-5 needlepoint frames in a cluster.

Pint-sized dog/cat sweater

This DIY is about having fun and creating a pint sized version of your hand me down.
