Wake up gorgeous with these easy overnight beauty treatments

Here are a few simple things you can do right before bed to wake up feeling more beautiful.

Did you know that while you're fast asleep, dreaming of a Hemsworth brother and cuddling your boyfriend pillow, you could actually be getting more beautiful? Applying overnight beauty treatments is a simple way to wake up feeling firmer and fresher. Here are a few things you can do right before bed to ensure you're really getting your beauty sleep:

Use an overnight cream with hyaluronic acid

There are countless overnight beauty creams out there, but you should look for one that contains hyaluronic acid, like the Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Overnight Firming Mask. We know, the word 'acid' doesn't exactly signal something you want to put on your face, but hyaluronic acid is a natural substance that's already found in your skin. As you get older, the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin diminishes. This cream will help put it back in there, smoothing out wrinkles, so you wake up looking like a teenager again! Just make sure to apply to a clean face.

Tackle pimples with foods found in your fridge

We've tried everything to try and get rid of acne — even the toothpaste trick. While toothpaste definitely dries pimples out, it can also irritate the blemish and cause redness and peeling. Here's a DIY remedy with only 2 ingredients that you probably already have at home: yogurt and lemon juice.

Take 1 tablespoon of plain, unsweetened yogurt and add a few squeezes of fresh lemon juice. Yogurt is full of skin-friendly nutrients that will hydrate your skin, treat inflammation and kill acne bacteria, while the lemon will help to dry out your pimple. Lemon juice also contains citric acid, which will help lighten acne scars.

Whiten your teeth with baking soda

Teeth whiteners can be expensive, but everyone has that box of baking soda in their fridge. Tonight, after you brush your teeth, try putting a tiny bit of baking soda on your toothbrush and add a little warm water. Doing this will work to remove stains and whiten your teeth! It's best to apply baking soda just once a week and do it before bed when you aren't eating and drinking afterwards so that it can absorb.

Exfoliate your lips with a DIY lip mask

Prone to dry, chapped lips? This DIY sugar scrub will help to exfoliate and soften them. To make it you'll need:

  • 1 tsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tsp of honey
  • 2 packets of raw sugar
  • A dash of lemon juice

Mix it all together and gently rub it on your lips in a circular motion with your fingers for about 2 minutes. Wash it off and there you go! The coconut oil contains vitamins E and K which are anti-aging, as well as fatty acids that moisturize without causing breakouts. Honey has amino acids that moisturize, while raw sugar produces glycolic acid that exfoliates and stimulates collagen production. To top it all off, the citric acid in lemon juice helps to brighten skin and scars and exfoliate.

Use Vaseline on your feet

We want you to wake up feeling beautiful from head to toe, so don't forget to give your feet some love. Putting Vaseline on before bed will help soften the skin on your feet. Simply take Vaseline and apply a very generous amount to your feet, paying close attention to your heels. Wrap in plastic wrap. Put on a sock and fall fast asleep!
