So, we've gathered a few easy, beautiful DIY ideas that will help you save money on your wedding or wedding shower — and turn your big day into a Pinterest paradise. 

DIY carnation centrepiece 

What's a wedding without flowers? Here's a simple and elegant floral arrangement that you can make yourself.

What you'll need:

  • Carnations, in colours of your choice
  • White bowl
  • Washi tape, in complimentary colours to your flowers
  • Skewers, painted black or small black dowels
  • Mini flags with table numbers
  • "Wet" floral oasis
  • Distilled water (helps the flowers last up to 3 weeks!)
  • Hot glue gun

Directions:

  1. Decorate the exterior of the white bowl with washi tape, in desired pattern.
  2. Form the oasis into the bowl and trim as needed.
  3. Pour water over oasis and insert flowers into bowl, starting at the edge of the bowl and working towards the center. Make sure the flowers are packed tightly together.
  4. Using hot glue gun, glue wood dowels to table numbers. Insert dowel into centre of arrangement.

DIY milk bath wedding favour

Send your guests off with a luxurious, relaxing milk bath that soothes your muscles and softens your skin. 

What you'll need:

  • 2 cups powdered milk
  • 2 cups epsom salts (soothes muscles)
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch (soothes and relieves dry, itchy skin)
  • 1/2 cup baking soda (skin softener)
  • 2 tsp dried lavender
  • 2 tsp ground dried rose petals
  • A few drops of lavender essential oil
  • Decorative 'milk' bottle
  • Black and white striped paper straws
  • Glass bowl
  • Metal mixing spoon
  • Mini scoop
  • Mini funnel

Directions:

  1. Put all ingredients into a bowl. Mix well.
  2. Using a metal spoon and a funnel, fill a decorative container with the milk bath.
  3. Add cute tag or adhere label directly to glass container.

DIY plantable paper invite

This invite is made from plantable wildflower paper that your guest can plant after the shower/wedding in their own garden. Eco-friendly, with a card that says, "Please plant me. I belong in your garden."

What you'll need:

  • Plantable paper (embedded with wildflowers)
  • Wild flower seeds
  • White craft glue
  • Vellum
  • Wax and stamp

Directions:

  1. Create invitation on computer or have a graphic artist to do for you.
  2. Print onto plantable paper.
  3. Add glue to area on invitation where you'd like the additional seeds to be added. Add seeds to wet glue and allow 24 hours to dry.
  4. Create custom envelope using vellum paper. Seal with wax and stamp.

DIY ombre sugar wedding favour

This super simple party favour works double duty as a pretty, personalized place setting. 

What you'll need:

  • Test tubes
  • 8 cups of white sugar
  • Red food colouring
  • Mixing spoon
  • 4 clear glass mixing bowls
  • Mini scoop
  • Mini funnel
  • Cute tag that says "So sweet of you to come"

Directions:

  1. In each glass bowl, measure out 2 cups of white sugar into each.
  2. In the first bowl, add 16 drops of red food colouring. In the second bowl, add 8 drops of food colouring. In the third bowl, add 4 drops of food colouring. The fourth bowl stays as plain white sugar.
  3. Using a measuring spoon, layer sugar in test tubes from darkest to white as last layer.
  4. Adorn the top of test tube with wire and cute tag with the guest's name.
