Perfect for a super stylish red wedding! (No, not *that* Red Wedding.)
Rumor has it, red is really in this fall. After popping up on all the fashion week runways, the vibrant shade is now starting to make its way into home decor, too. So if your wedding colours just happen to line up with this on-trend hue (congrats on being an early adopter), you should probably make the most of it by opting for these chic, DIY marble place settings with red and gold accents. Not only are they super simple to make, they're totally unique and are sure to make your big day stand out. So here's to a super stylish red wedding! (No, not that Red Wedding).
Here's what you need:
- White foam core boards (as many as needed)
- Ruler
- Pencil
- Xacto knife
- Sandpaper
- Marble contact paper (2-3 rolls per setting)
- Scissors
- Gold calligraphy pen
Here's how to do it:
- Using foam core take your ruler and pencil and draw out your shape for the charger plate, table number and place card.
- Once your shapes are drawn carefully use your xacto knife and ruler to cut out your shapes.
- Once your shapes are cut, use sandpaper to soften up the rough edges.
- Using the marble contact paper carefully apply the adhesive side to your shapes using a ruler to glide it on making sure no creases form. Note: Make sure to leave a good 1-2 inches on each side so you can fold it over the edges.
- Once your adhesive is firmly on your shapes, begin cutting the corners on each side so you can fold and close your edges so no white foam core is left to see.
- Once this is complete you are now ready to write on your table number and place cards with your calligraphy pen.
