Avril Lavigne re-records her song 'Warrior' to honour front-line workers
'I see you and I support you,' the pop star wrote to essential workers everywhere
Avril Lavigne has announced a new, re-recorded version of her 2019 song "Warrior" to honour the front-line workers of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Proceeds from this Head Above Water track, now renamed "We are Warriors," will go to Project Hope, an international health-care organization helping doctors and medical staff around the world stay safe right now. The track will be available for download and on streaming services on Friday, April 24.

"Simple tasks like delivering mail has become a heroic effort. Overnight everyone was asked to battle. Overnight everyone became Warriors."
She concluded her post by thanking those currently working in hospitals, the postal service, grocery stores and more who have "had their world shaken."
"I want you to know I see you and I support you."
On March 5, Lavigne cancelled the Asia leg of her Head Above Water tour, which was set to kick off in Shenzhen, China, on April 23. "Please everybody take care of yourselves and stay healthy," she wrote in an Instagram post. "You're in my thoughts and prayers and we are hoping to announce rescheduled shows soon."
One week later, she cancelled the Europe leg of her tour.
