Carly Rae Jepsen is writing music for a 10 Things I Hate About You Broadway production
The Juno-winning pop star is lending her songwriting talents to the musical adaptation

Pop singer Carly Rae Jepsen is taking her talents back to Broadway to co-write the score for the musical adaptation of 10 Things I Hate About You.
She will compose the music alongside singer Ethan Gruska, who has performed in The Belle Brigade and released songs with Phoebe Bridgers and Bon Iver. Gruska and Jepsen worked together previously on Jepsen's 2023 album The Loveliest Time, where he co-produced songs such as Shy Boy.
Jepsen shared the news about working on the 10 Things I Hate About You musical on Instagram, writing: "I can tell you 10 things I'm excited about right now or just skip to number one which is working on this dream project with this dream team!"
Jepsen's last turn on Broadway was starring as Cinderella in Rodgers & Hammerstein's Cinderella in 2014. She performed songs including In My Own Little Corner.
The 10 Things I Hate About You musical will be directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, with Girls star Lena Dunham co-writing the book alongside The Kim Loo Sisters playwright Jessica Huang.
The film 10 Things I Hate About You — an adaptation of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew — was released in 1999. This will be the movie's first Broadway adaptation.
