Céline Dion's new video for "Imperfections" is not only a visually stunning short subject — it's also a powerful statement on being a middle-aged woman at the height of her powers, whose every move comes under scrutiny.

Directed by Gabriel Coutu-Dumont, the video features Dion posing in a variety of couture dresses, looking very much like a fashion model from a bygone, black-and-white era. Interspersed with these shots are close-ups of Dion facing a mirror and slowly removing her makeup. By the video's end, she has wiped her face clean, looking blankly into the camera, as if to say, "this is also me."

The song's bridge contains the song's most pointed lyrics, as Dion addresses her imperfections: "They're part of me, and you are, too/ And I don't really want to choose/ Can you love them the way that I love you?"
