CBC Music's Canadian Music Class Challenge returns for a fall 2024 edition.  

Every year, we challenge music educators from across Canada to teach their students a Canadian song from our list, create a video performance of the students playing the song, and submit it for a chance to win great prizes. You can read more details about how to enter here.

Below are a few key dates to keep in mind if you are participating in this year's program:

  • Thursday, Aug. 29: Official 2024 registration begins at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.
  • Wednesday, Oct. 2: Video submissions open at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 13: Registration closes at 3 p.m. ET/12 p.m. PT.
  • Monday, Nov. 18: Video submissions close at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. 
  • Monday, Dec. 9: Top 10 in each category released at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT.
  • Monday, Dec. 16: Winners announced at 8 a.m. ET/5 a.m. PT.
