Alvvays, Stars, Buffy Sainte-Marie, more to perform at 2019 CBC Music Festival

CBC Music Festival is returning for its seventh year, and Toronto indie-pop act Alvvays will be headlining the event's main stage.

Set to take place on Saturday, May 25, at Toronto's RBC Echo Beach, the all-Canadian lineup will also feature Rhye, Coeur de pirate, Buffy Sainte-Marie, Charlotte Cardin, Exco Levi and a special set by Stars, who will be performing their critically acclaimed 2004 album, Set Yourself on Fire.

As with other years, the CBC Music Festival will have multiple stages including a q stage and a newly added Juno 365 stage this year.

Update: DJ NDN, also known as former A Tribe Called Red member Ian Campeau, and Gabrielle Shonk have been added to this year's lineup. They will perform on the q stage and the Junos 365 stage, respectively.

The q stage will host performances by the Courtneys, Peach Pit, Hubert Lenoir, Emmanuel Jal and 2019 Searchlight winner Shopé, with more acts to be announced. The Juno 365 stage will have 2019 Juno Award nominees Elisapie, Nuela Charles, Laila Biali, Samantha Martin & Delta Sugar, plus more to be announced.

The CBC Kids Zone will be back and will include crafts, activities and entertainment throughout the day for young concertgoers. A food truck fair will provide a variety of cuisines all day. And there will be opportunities, between sets, to explore the rest of the site and meet local CBC hosts.

Tickets are on sale now at Ticketmaster. General admission is $39.50, plus fees, and children 12 years old and under can enjoy free admission with any adult ticket holder (two children per adult).
