First Play Live: Serena Ryder, Christmas Kisses
Serena Ryder never imagined herself making a holiday record, but when the opportunity came to work with the legendary Bob Ezrin she began a journey to rediscover her childhood love for Christmas classics. In Christmas Kisses, Ryder puts her unique jazz-influenced stamp on nine holiday standards and even penned an original tune that became the album's title track.
"Now I kind of realize what's important about Christmas, which is really being grateful for your family, your friends and your health," she told CBC Music. "And getting to sing these old classics has always been my favourite thing."
Ryder joined us in a festive Studio 211 to share a performance of three songs from Christmas Kisses. Watch videos from the session below, but not before pouring yourself a mug of something warm and cozy.
