Calling all Canadian musicians! The 2024 Juno Awards submissions are officially open and you can submit here until the deadline on Nov. 2 at 11:59 pm ET.

To be eligible for nominations, your music must be released between Sept. 1, 2022 and Nov. 2, 2023.

To help open the doors for indie musicians from underrepresented communities requiring financial support, TD is once again sponsoring the Junos Submissions Access Program. Independent Canadian artists can apply for submission fee assistance through the program, which has aided past Juno nominees including Ceréna, the Manitou Mkwa Singers and Adrian Sutherland. The application deadline is Nov. 2, 2023 at 5:00 pm ET.

New changes for Juno submissions

This year, there are three changes that applicants should be aware of, surrounding artificial intelligence, as well as the producer of the year and album artwork of the year categories.

Projects using artificial intelligence

Elements of AI can be used in eligible projects for Juno contention, but humans must be the primary creative contributors of the work that is submitted. Only humans are eligible to be nominated in any Juno category, according to the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.

Producer of the year category changes

Artists applying for the producer of the year category must have produced at least four tracks that fall within the eligibility dates.

Album artwork of the year category expansion

The art that is eligible for album artwork of the year will now also include digital streaming multimedia.

Nominations for the Junos will be announced on Feb. 6, 2024. The 2024 Juno Awards will take place in Halifax on Sunday, March 24. The show will be broadcast live on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, CBC Listen and at CBCMusic.ca/junos.
