The first awards evening of 2023 Junos weekend, the Opening Night Awards are where the majority of the Junos are handed out each year. 

From the Edmonton Convention Centre, Andrew Phung and Angeline Tetteh-Wayoe hosted this celebration that included the awarding of 40-plus Juno Awards, the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award and the MusiCounts Inspired Minds Ambassador Award. The evening also featured performances by nominees Devon Cole, Dylan Sinclair, Jean-Michel Blais, the Bearhead Sisters and a special collaborative performance by Corb Lund, the Sadies and the McDades' Shannon Johnson during the in memoriam presentation.
