Jaunt: a short journey or excursion undertaken especially for pleasure.

Toronto-based band Jaunt is exactly that: a pleasurable trip through lush harmonies, dynamic song structure and funky beats.

Jaunt's influences range from R&B and yacht rock to hip hop, a unique blend that the band has crafted since forming in 2016. The six-member group — including Tom Helliwell, Caitlin Woelfe-O'Brien, Daniel Reardon, Pat O'Brien, Nick Nausbaum and Duncan Hood — is well connected to other emerging Canadian stars, as two band members have toured with Charlotte Day Wilson, and BadBadNotGood drummer Alex Sowinski worked with the band on some of the tracks for its debut full-length album, All in One, which dropped earlier this year.

In this episode of The Intro, Jaunt performs the new album's title track plus "Obvious Answer," and Helliwell chats with CBC Music Mornings host Saroja Coelho.
