Shania Twain to duet with Sabrina Carpenter in upcoming Christmas special
Tyla, Chappell Roan and Kali Uchis will also perform as part of the Netflix special on Dec. 6
Grammy-nominated pop singer Sabrina Carpenter's holiday special, A Nonsense Christmas, will air on Netflix on Dec. 6, and will feature a duet with country superstar, Shania Twain.
Twain is only one of the special guests who will sing with Carpenter. Other musicians who will be featured include Tyla, Chappell Roan and Kali Uchis.
Twain shared a post on Instagram announcing her involvement with the project, writing: "I'm dreaming of A Nonsense Christmas with @sabrinacarpenter."
Carpenter recently covered Twain's hit "That Don't Impress Me Much" during her Toronto show for her Short n' Sweet tour in September at Scotiabank Arena.
"It's just a huge compliment," Twain said of Carpenter's cover. "I mean, [Carpenter is] such a talented person! She's smart, so it's a compliment."
Carpenter previously covered Twain's "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" in 2023 while performing at Meridian Hall in Toronto.
Sam Wrench, the director behind Taylor Swift's 2023 concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, will direct A Nonsense Christmas, and other celebrities including Quinta Brunson, Sean Astin, Cara Delevingne, Kyle Mooney, Nico Hiraga, Megan Stalter, Owen Thiele and Jillian Bell will also star.
Carpenter recently earned six Grammy nominations, including album of the year and best pop vocal album.
Twain's song "Boots Don't" was featured on the soundtrack for the 2024 film Twisters, which received a Grammy nomination for best compilation soundtrack for visual media.
