Watch Johnny Orlando take on Katy Perry's 'California Gurls'
The 16-year-old performed the hit with Hayden Summerall and Jacob Sartorius at the 2019 Teen Choice Awards
While Johnny Orlando didn't take any Teen Choice Awards home this year, the singer did hit the stage with Hayden Summerall and Jacob Sartorius at Hermosa Beach in Los Angeles to perform Katy Perry's aptly chosen hit "California Gurls."
No stranger to covering Perry's music — he covered "Roar" last year — Orlando was only eight years old when the song originally came out.
One Canadian did win big at the awards, though: Shawn Mendes took home trophies (surfboards, in the case of the Teen Choice Awards) for choice male artist, choice summer song and choice summer male artist.
Don't mind me, just pretending <a href="https://twitter.com/ShawnMendes?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">@ShawnMendes</a> is saying this to me and me alone. 🥰 <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/TeenChoice?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">#TeenChoice</a> <a href="https://t.co/MTNzRPRM5d">pic.twitter.com/MTNzRPRM5d</a>
