Quebec provincial police are investigating the homicide of a 35-year-old man in Rimouski in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region.

Sureté du Québec (SQ) officers responded to a 911 call late Friday afternoon concerning a seriously injured man found inside of an apartment on Pierre d'Anjou Street.

The SQ says first responders tried to revive the man, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators and technicians analyzed the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the event.

The SQ says a second police operation that took place Friday night on Avenue des Goélands in Pointe-au-Père — about eight kilometres away — is related to the homicide.

No arrests have yet been made and the investigation is ongoing.
