New Brunswick's premier says the province won't save any money by following the recommendations from a recent report on post-secondary education.

Answeringquestions on aprovince-wide CBC Radio phone-in show Tuesday morning, Premier Shawn Graham said he'll formally respond to Commission on Post-Secondary Education report in the throne speech this fall.

He did tell listeners that thereason to implement the report's recommendations would not beto save money.

"This report will actually require more dollars from the taxpayers to invest in higher education, because it's going to allow greater accessibility and it's going to create better connectivity between our universities and our community colleges," he said.

The report released on Sept. 14 included a controversial recommendation to blend universities and community colleges in parts of New Brunswick to form polytechnic institutions.
