Fatal ATV accident in Cormack

A man, 55, from Cormack on Newfoundland's west coast was killed in an ATV accident on Saturday.

An RCMP spokesperson said two people travelling on White River Road, a dirt road in the community, spotted the body under an overturned ATV.

They did not see the accident or know when it occurred, but happened upon the crash site around 4 p.m. 

Police confiscated the ATV to perform a mechanical inspection on the vehicle.

The name of the victim was not released.

Police said an autopsy was slated to be performed sometime on Sunday.
