Police looking for vehicle after cyclist struck in Brampton

Police are looking for an unknown vehicle which struck and seriously injured a cyclist in Brampton on Wednesday before it fled the scene.

A cyclist in Brampton was seriously injured after being struck by a car that fled the scene, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The cyclist, a 33-year-old Brampton woman, was struck while crossing a Highway 410 on ramp on Steeles Avenue just before 9 p.m. Wednesday, OPP's Highway Safety Division said on X, formerly Twitter. 

Police told CBC Toronto the cyclist was taken to a trauma hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Police are asking anyone with information or video footage to contact Mississauga OPP.
