Man arrested after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl on Toronto subway

Alleged assault took place on a TTC subway in Toronto’s East Danforth neighbourhood Sunday, police say.

A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old girl on a TTC subway in Toronto's East Danforth neighbourhood on Sunday, police said.

Toronto police said officers responded to a sexual assault call in the Main Street and Danforth Avenue area around 10 a.m. on Sunday.

A 12-year-old girl was approached by a male suspect on a TTC subway, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her, police said in a release on Tuesday.

The victim didn't sustain any physical injuries, police said.

Police said they have arrested a 60-year-old man from Toronto. He was charged with sexual assault on a person under the age of 16 and sexual interference. 

Police said they believe there may be more victims. Anyone with information in relation to this case is asked to contact police or leave a tip anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
