Last month, YouTube took down an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience because of the vaccine misinformation being spread by his guest Robert Malone. Malone has been banned from other platforms for his spread of misinformation, but he’s found a home on Substack, along with other anti-vaxxers, QAnon believers and white supremacists. Elise Thomas, who tracks far-right actors and conspiracy theorists for the Institute for Strategic Dialogue, says Substack's hands-off policy on content moderation has made it a haven and a source of revenue for people pushing misinformation of all kinds.
