Ice storm fallout continues to unfold across Ontario

Over a million homes and businesses across Ontario were badly hit by the ice storm in late March. The costs extended past physical damage to medications lost due to power loss. Dr. Maggie Himann, the Medical Director of Peterborough Veterinary Outreach, talked about the impact of the storm on her clinic. Insurance claims are approaching $342 million dollars   in Ontario and Quebec. T Anne Marie Thomas, Director of Consumer and Industry Relations at the Insurance Bureau of Canada, described  the flood of claims since the ice storm  and how people can prepare for natural disasters.
