The St. Elias mountain range extends, from the southwestern coast of Alaska inland to Kluane National Park. It's home to the world's largest non-polar icefields. In recent years, climate change has caused glaciers, within the icefields, to melt at increasingly rapid rates. Now people in communities, whose lives have been shaped by glaciers for generations, are left wondering what could happen, if some of them disappear. For the past two weeks, researchers have been in the area studying how these glaciers are changing and what it could mean for the future. CBC's Tori Fitzpatrick visited Haines Junction and Kluane Lake Research Station last week. She spoke with researchers and citizens of Kluane First Nation and Champagne and and Aishihik First Nations.
