      Human rights organizer describes a 'terrible' situation in Haiti

      Haiti is under a state of emergency and at least a dozen people are dead after gangs targeted the country’s two biggest prisons this weekend, freeing thousands of inmates. Pierre Espérance, executive director of the National Human Rights Defense Network in Haiti, described the situation on the streets of Port-au-Prince as “terrible.” He spoke to As It Happens host Nil Köksal.
