‘It’s been a while’ Dragonette celebrate new album Twennies at Toronto’s Axis Club | Full Concert
Six years have passed since Dragonette’s last album, Royal Blues, but this year, the Toronto pop group returned with its fifth studio album, Twennies. To celebrate, the band played an album release show at Toronto’s Axis Club, where singer Martina Sorbara admitted that “it’s been a while” since they shared a room with their fans, revealing that she took a break from music, had a kid, but was forced to take even more time off when the pandemic hit. “I don’t think of myself as somebody who likes a spotlight on me, per se,” Sorbara tells CBC Music. “But when I’m onstage, I think it’s about how I sing and being able to share with an audience in real time, and have an experience together.”
