To celebrate the 2024 JUNO Awards, CBC Music recorded The Juno Sessions: a series where past and present Juno Award nominees and winners cover songs by musicians who have been inducted into the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame.
For the first instalment of The Juno Sessions, Toronto rapper TOBi chose to cover Joni Mitchell 's 1970 folk classic "Big Yellow Taxi." “I remember the first time I heard the song, I was probably like 12 years old, and something about it just resonated with me,’ TOBi told CBC Music, “it's such an important song to me because of what she was talking about on the record.” TOBi won his first Juno Award in 2021 for his album Elements Vol. 1, and is up for two more Junos this year.
