How Toronto Maple Leafs fans deal with defeat year after year
The last time the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup was in 1967. In the 58 years since, the Maple Leafs haven’t even made it to the NHL finals, much less won the Stanley Cup. Fans have told us that this is the year because of players like Matthew Knies, Mitch Marner, Auston Matthews, William Nylander and the injured Anthony Stolarz. But after the 6-1 loss in Game 5 of round two at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, many fans left the game early and even booed a team they were dressed to support.
