This doughnut was made in honour of the Philadelphia Eagles fans who climbed greased poles
A vegan doughnut shop in Philadelphia is celebrating the Eagles advancing to the Super Bowl by paying tribute to the fans who climbed up greased poles to show their jubilation.
Dottie's Donuts is selling the "greased pole doughnut"after the Eagle's win against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday night prompted the unusual reaction by the fans.

The idea was born when, in preparation for Sunday night's game, city workers workers — dubbed the "Crisco Cops" — walked around the city greasing light poles with Crisco to stop fans from climbing them.
But when the Eagle's got the win, no amount of Crisco could stop the fans.
Quinton Johnson is the manager of Dottie's Donuts. He spoke with As It Happens host Carol Off about the shop's newest doughnut. Here is part of their conversation.
Quinton, just first of all, describe this special Eagle's doughnut to us.
It's just like a long, straight, fried dough. It's a chocolate doughnut with vanilla "grease" — just vanilla glaze. And we put a little drop of matcha so we've got some green on top of there to symbolize the Eagles fan climbing the pole, which they ultimately did.
So this is a greased pole doughnut?
Yeah, this is the greased pole doughnut. This is the official Philadelphia Eagles NFC championship greased pole doughnut thanks to the city of Philadelphia, and I guess all of the Crisco Cops, as they're calling them.
Was there actually a little fleet of people out with buckets of Crisco vegetable oil painting these poles?
We're not making this up. Like, it's a police officer standing there with a tub of grease, greasing a pole. It's covered, top to bottom, in grease. It's the most bizarre thing.
How are your greased pole doughnut selling?
It is pretty much the first thing that people mention when they walk in today. They're like "You have the grease pole doughnut?"
Are you giving any of them away?
If any Philadelphia Eagles want to come in or any coaches … they are more than welcome. Nick Foles can come on in and he can have as many greased pole doughnuts as he would like.
I mean, if someone actually climbed one of those greasy poles, maybe they should get one of your doughnut for free.
That is a very very good point. I don't see any reason why if someone came in and showed some irrefutable proof that they climbed a greased pole during the pandemonium we should be able to look out for them.
The super bowl is between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots. So I'm wondering, are you selling any Boston cream doughnuts in your shop?
Good question. The Boston Cream doughnut are currently on hiatus. We don't need those for the next two weeks. We'll come up with some Eagles cream doughnut or something like that. We don't want to leave anyone high or dry but right now, no Boston cream going on. No New England-themed doughnut going on in Philly right now.
