A fight has been playing out in the highest courts in France — between a wealthy American couple who bought the Pissarro painting "Picking Peas", and the descendents of the French Jewish businessman, Simon Bauer, who owned the painting before it was seized by the Nazis during the German occupation of France during WWII.
