Storm chaser snaps his holy grail: a double tornado
A Texas weather photographer finally snaps a picture of a double tornado. He calls it his unicorn.
He calls it his unicorn. Last week, Texas storm chaser Kelly DeLay captured the image he's been trying to get for six years: a double tornado.
DeLay was on the plains of Colorado when he spotted it.
He tells As It Happens co-host Carol Off he was setting up to take a picture of a single tornado emerging from a massive super-cell storm when he saw the rare event.
"The storm was probably a mile, mile and a half wide...As I was beginning to take pictures the second tornado came down and I was just absolutely delighted."
