Punjabi Rudolph, Chewbacca's Christmas and more new carols
A man in Ohio is in trouble for the approach he took to his Christmas decorations after he set up a nativity scene where everyone is a zombie.
Jasen Dixon faces fines of $500 per day for not having a permit from the city for the display .
There is still no law against appropriating Christmas, so Because News panellists Jasmeet Singh (a.k.a. Jus Reign), Ashley Botting and Kris Siddiqi all put their own spin on the holiday.
A very Punjabi Christmas
Singh translated Christmas carols into Punjabi in a popular YouTube video.
"Some could say it's art, others could say we butchered it," said Singh.
Singh's Punjabi Christmas video was so popular, he's performing the songs live in Brampton on Dec. 20.
A socially conscious Christmas
Botting said the inspiration for a new Christmas carol struck her as she was walking around a mall this week.
"What child made this crappy Christmas gift that nobody actually wants or needs?" she sung to the tune of "What Child Is This?"
Star Wars: the competing holiday
Siddiqi says his main December event will be going to see the new Stars Wars movie.
He changed the words of "I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas" to celebrate Life Day, the holiday of the Wookiee inhabitants of Kashyyyk.
"I'm a dreaming of a hairy Life Day, just like the ones Chewbacca knows, where the trees reach high peak, on the planet of Kashyyyk, and kill Tauntauns in the snow," he crooned.
