Charlie's Angels gets a Canadian remake
This week, the Minister of Finance and the Governor of the Bank of Canada made history by announcing the first Canadian woman to be on the front of a bank note.
Why Viola Desmond? In 1946, she refused to sit in the whites-only section of a Nova Scotia movie theatre. Her arrest made such an impact, it was even immortalized in a Heritage Minute:
It's my privilege to announce that Viola Desmond will be the first Canadian woman on a bank note. <a href="https://twitter.com/hashtag/bankNOTEable?src=hash">#bankNOTEable</a> <a href="https://t.co/jAOceW2ETX">pic.twitter.com/jAOceW2ETX</a>

Desmond is headed for the ten dollar bill in 2018. The current star of the ten, Margaret Atwood - no strike that, it's Sir John A. Macdonald - will move on to a higher-value note, bumping off either William Lyon Mackenzie King or Sir Robert Borden.
We think it's amazing that the Bank of Canada is putting Viola Desmond on the ten, but they maybe should've put her on the twenty - because at today's prices, you still can't get into a movie with a Desmond.
