Rex Jackson has spent his entire life trying to find his true identity. It's a journey that finally took him inside an LGBT centre on campus.

Rex Jackson speaks about his experience of gender transformation and his journey from being Jenny to becoming Rex.

When he first walked through those doors, his name was Jenny. That visit began a journey where everything changed, and Jenny started on the road to being Rex.


For many transgender students, LGBT centres on campus are a safe haven for them to start transitioning. We called a counsellor at the University of Toronto to find out what students can expect when they walk through those doors.

"I guess I would say to somebody that I think is transitioning and coming out... all of the aspects related to transitioning is really deeply personal. And there's no one way to do it, and everyone's life is their own to live."
