How the monthly jobs numbers won't always tell you how many of us are working

Policy nerds and economists alike look forward to 'Jobs Friday' and the monthly Statistics Canada unemployment numbers. But do those figures actually give a full picture on how many are in the Canadian workforce? Hint: nope.

Do those figures actually give a full picture on how many are in the Canadian workforce? Hint: nope.

Cost of Living producer Tracy Johnson explains how what you should actually be looking is a number buried further down in the statistical tables … "the number percentage of people of prime working age who have a job" might be a mouthful but there's potenially more insight there.
